Project Updates

The ACIDLOOP will hold its project closing conference in The Grand Hotel in Delhi on 17-18 December 2015. At this conference the results of the four-year ACIDLOOP project will be presented and discussed with a wide range of stakeholders.

On 17 December the final major workshop is held with the company representatives from the Northern region. This event is for company representatives only. The workshop is accompanied by a technology fair at which technology suppliers present their resource efficiency and cleaner production (RECP) technolgies. The fair will continue on the next day. In the evening, there will be a reception and dinner.

On 18 December the conference opens with a presentation of the ACIDLOOP project and the results it has achieved. In the next session it will be discussed amongst participants as well as in a panel discussion how the project learnings are relevant for policy making on RECP in India. In the afternoon, there will be parallel sessions on the role of customers as well as technology for more RECP in the metal finishing sector. At the end of the day, companies from the North will be awarded certificates for their successful participation in the project.

ACIDLOOP

ACIDLOOP is a 4-year project (2012-2016) supported by the European Union (EU) under the SWITCH Asia Programme. This programme emphasizes sustainable consumption and production in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). ACIDLOOP is targeted specifically at the Indian metal finishing industry.  It aims to introduce technology innovation for acid recovery as well as resource efficiency that would lead to improved environmental quality and combat pollution.  The activities is taking place in various locations in northern, western and southern India.
