Project Updates

The closing conference of the EU SWITCH Asia project ACIDLOOP was held on 17-18 December in Delhi. The closing conference brought together over 100 participants from various stakeholders such as metal finishing SMEs, associations, customers, technology suppliers, government agencies and financial institutions. On both days, a technology fair was also held as part of the conference. The conference opening address was delivered by Mr. Vinnie Mehta, DG, Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and Dr. Bharat Jain, Member Secretary, Gujarat Cleaner Production Centre (GCPC). The sessions were very interactive and resulted in stimulating discussions. The conference concluded with award of certificates to participating MSMEs in the northern region with outstanding performance being awarded gold certificate and excellent performance being awarded silver certificate.

Technology fair


ACIDLOOP is a 4-year project (2012-2016) supported by the European Union (EU) under the SWITCH Asia Programme. This programme emphasizes sustainable consumption and production in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). ACIDLOOP is targeted specifically at the Indian metal finishing industry.  It aims to introduce technology innovation for acid recovery as well as resource efficiency that would lead to improved environmental quality and combat pollution.  The activities is taking place in various locations in northern, western and southern India.
