Project Updates

On 31 January 2016 the SWITCH-Asia funded ACIDLOOP project officially ended after a four year implementation period. From the beginning of February 2016 some of the ACIDLOOP partners are now offering their services on a commercial basis to interested SMEs as the ACIDLOOP Initiative.

The ACIDLOOP project team would like to thank all the involved companies, partners, and further stakeholders for four years of interesting, exciting, and rewarding work. Th team would also like to thank the European Union and the SWITCH-Asia project for the funding and support to make this project possible. The partners of the newly formed ACIDLOOP Initiative - TERI, Stenum Asia, AREC and adelphi - will now offer their consulting services on resource efficiency in the metal finsihing sector on a fee-based model to SMEs. ACIDLOOP

ACIDLOOP is a 4-year project (2012-2016) supported by the European Union (EU) under the SWITCH Asia Programme. This programme emphasizes sustainable consumption and production in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). ACIDLOOP is targeted specifically at the Indian metal finishing industry.  It aims to introduce technology innovation for acid recovery as well as resource efficiency that would lead to improved environmental quality and combat pollution.  The activities is taking place in various locations in northern, western and southern India.
