In August 2014, ACIDLOOP project representatives presented and discussed results of the first demo-plant operation phase during two workshops in Pune and Faridabad. The plants had been installed in 2013 and had now been running for almost nine months in two sites. In Pune the plant had been installed at Abhijit Industries & Electroplaters, Bhosari MIDC. In Faridabad the plant had been operating in a Commen Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP). According to the project approach, the plants will now be shifted to a new location in another project region. This allows the project companies to not only experience one technology but all three technologies across the entire project period. During the workshops representatives of the ACIDLOOP project companies were informed about the results of the operating phase of the plants and lessons learnt.

The workshop in Faridabad took place on 21 August. Participants from the following companies attended: Param Metal Tech Pvt. Ltd, K. R. Sanitations, A & A Engineers, Techno Shine, Poonam Industries, Kumbha Metal Finishers, Jyoti Enterprises, C. E. T. P, D. S. Metals Industries, Jyoti electro coaters, Sai Electroplaters, Hans Industries, Modern Coating Industries, C.E.T.P.

The workshop in Pune took place on 8 August. ACIDLOOP is a 4-year project (2012-2016) supported by the European Union (EU) under the SWITCH Asia Programme. This programme emphasizes sustainable consumption and production in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). ACIDLOOP is targeted specifically at the Indian metal finishing industry.  It aims to introduce technology innovation for acid recovery as well as resource efficiency that would lead to improved environmental quality and combat pollution.  The activities is taking place in various locations in northern, western and southern India.
